Italian scientists Rita
Cucchiara, a computer-vision expert at the University of Modena
and Reggio Emilia, and Laura Margheri, of London's Imperial
College, are among 25 women who have made a key contribution to
robotics worldwide, the journal RoboHub said Wednesday.
Margheri specialized in soft robotics at the Sant'Anna
Superior School in Pisa before working in London.
With 13 researchers listed, the US dominated the ranking,
which also included for the first time a woman from Africa,
Brenda Mboya of the Ashesi University in Ghana.
