The amount of non-performing
loans (NPLs) held by Italian banks fell to 29.3 billion euros in
September from 32.3 in August and 40.2 billion in September
2018, the Italian banking Association (ABI) said Thursday.
The fall since the peak of 88.8 billion euros in November
2016 was over 57 billion euros, or 67.1%.
The ratio of bad loans to total loans was 1.69% in September
2019, down from 2.34% in September last year.
