The former partner of Angela
Stefano, 48, who was reported missing on February 5 this year in
the southern town of Salemi, has been arrested by police,
investigative sources said Wednesday.
Stefano's ex Vincenzo Caradonna, 47, is charged with
first-degree murder and of hiding and destroying the woman's
body.
He is also accused of illegal possession of explosive
devices, the investigative sources said.
Stefano's son told investigators after her disappearance that
his mother was afraid of her former partner because he was
violent but she was too scared to report the abuse to police.
The Carabinieri forensic unit RIS found traces of blood in
Caradonna's apartment in Salemi, the sources said.
