Culture Minister Dario Franceschini
told a question time session in the Lower House on Wednesday
that 401,525 households in Italy have successfully applied for
the government's 'holiday bonus'.
The means-tested bonus of up to 500 euros is aimed at helping
Italy's tourism industry, which has been devastated by the
coronavirus emergency.
He said the amount granted totalled 183 million euros and said
the data showed the bonus "is working".
Franceschini said that "12,580 people have already used the
bonus in hotels".
