(ANSA) - BRUXELLES, 16 FEB - The European Commissioner for the Interior, Ylva Johansson, will be in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania from Thursday to Saturday to personally check the situation of migrants in the border areas with Croatia and Greece, the EU executive reported.

On Thursday, Johansson will be in Bosnia-Herzegovina. She will meet with national political authorities to discuss the severe migration crisis management in recent months.

The Commissioner's next destination will be the Una-Sana Canton, and the city of Bihac, where she will meet the governor and the mayor respectively, and visit the camp of Lipa destroyed on the eve of last Christmas, where about a thousand people still live in very precarious conditions. In Lipa, the Commissioner will be accompanied by representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and other United Nations agencies.

Johansson will then reach Albania, where on Saturday, after a round of meetings with representatives of the government and the opposition, she will go to the Kakavia border crossing with Greece to assess the joint Frontex-Albania mission. (ANSA).
