Serbia-Kosovo: US supporting 'peace highway'

After the normalization agreement at White House

16 September, 12:04
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 16 SET - The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and Export-Import Bank (Exim) signed letters of interest with Serbia and Kosovo to help finance construction of the so-called "Peace Highway" that will connect Nis and Pristina, the DFC said in a statement.

"The Peace Highway will drive economic development and regional integration by connecting Nis and Pristina. It will also serve as a powerful symbol of the new, transformative relationship between these neighboring countries," said DFC CEO Adam Boehler. The announcement comes after the economic normalization agreement signed by Belgrade and Pristina at the White House on September 4.

DFC and EXIM plan to send delegations to Belgrade and Pristina at the end of September to advance work on the Nis-Pristina highway and other projects, DFC informed. (ANSA).
