Serbia: summit with Vucic on Kosovo, and fight against crime

Session of the National Security Council

08 February, 19:24
(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 08 FEB - BELGRADE, FEBRUARY 8 - The intensification of the fight against organized crime in Serbia after the excellent raids and arrests of recent days, and the situation in Kosovo, deemed by Belgrade to be increasingly complex and intricate, were the key topics of a Council meeting for security national team chaired this morning by president Aleksandar Vucic.

At the end of the meeting, Defense Minister Neojsa Stefanovic said that investigators are looking into, among other things, the dangerous interconnections between members of crime and representatives of state institutions and bodies.

As for Kosovo, where the general election will take place on Sunday, Serbia's leadership intends to multiply its efforts to protect the Serbian population and, in collaboration with the Kfor, to guarantee peace and stability. The appeal is to vote in favor of Srpska Lista, the largest of the three parties representing the largely concentrated Serbian minority in northern Kosovo. Srpska Lista is the political force closely linked to the Belgrade government.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin, Head of Secret Service Bratislav Gasic, Chief of Police Vladimir Rebic, Chief of General Staff attended the session of the National Security Council with Vucic and Stefanovic Milan Mojsilovic. (ANSA).
