(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 31 GEN - TRIESTE, JANUARY 30 - 'Beginning', a film by Dea Kulumbegashvili, from Georgia, unanimously won the Trieste Prize, assigned by the jury of the 32nd Trieste Film Festival.

Three Balkan countries (Kosovo, Serbia, and Bosnia Herzegovina) won three special mentions: 'Exile' by Visar Morina, 'My morning laughter' by Marko Djordjevic, and 'So she doesn't live' by Faruk Loncarevic.

'Acasa, my home' by Romanian director Radu Ciorniciuc won the Best documentary's Alpe Adria Cinema Award. 'Beyond is the day' by Damian Kocur won the award for the best short films in competition, and a special mention went to 'Goads' by Iris Baglanea.

Among other prizes, Corso Salani 2021 award for the best film of the section - by Trieste Film Festival, Corso Salani Association and Vivo film, in cooperation with RAI 3 - Fuori Ora - went to 'Ultimina' by Jacopo Quadri, whereas the Prize SkyArte awarded by the Sky Arte HD channel through the acquisition and dissemination of one of the films of the TriesteFF Art & Sound section, went to Marc di Domenico's 'Le regard de Charles', with a special mention to Boris Miljković's 'Homecoming'.

Still, the Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso Transeuropa Award for the best documentary went to Ivan Ramljak for his 'Once upon a youth', while the CEI (Central European Initiative) Award for the film that best interpreted the contemporary world and the dialogue between different cultures, was won by Golubovic's 'Father', a well-deserved encore for a film judged as "tough and tender" at the same time.
