(ANSA) - SOFIA, 22 GEN - In Bulgaria last night at 01.15 (00.15 Italian time) the unit 5 of the Kozloduy nuclear power plant (north), the only one in the country, was shut down after the activation of the reactor emergency protection, following routine work.

The staff disconnected the unit from the country's energy system, the power plant's management announced. They underlined that all reactor systems worked according to the design algorithms, and there is no deviation from the normal radiation.
