Di Maio, Italy and Albania united in the fight against Covid
Italy's Foreign Minister in Tirana with Rama
20 November, 16:04 (ANSA) - TRIESTE, 20 NOV - ROME, NOVEMBER 20 - 'The fight
against Covid-19, which requires a common effort, has confirmed
once more if needed, how deep the friendship between Italy and
Albania is. In the darkest moments of the pandemic, in Italy, we
welcomed the aid received from Albania with great gratitude, and
we reciprocated by sending a team of Italian health workers to
Albania". Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said in a joint press
conference with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in Tirana.
"No need to hide that the situation remains complicated due to the second wave of the pandemic. This, however, does not prevent us from thinking about the future and working together to recover from the damage caused by the coronavirus to our societies and our economies," added Di Maio. Rama thanked Minister Di Maio and the Italian government for their support for Albania and their efforts to ensure that the Balkan country 'does not lag in accessing vaccines. (ANSA).
