Germany: travel industry's turnover down 61%

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JAN 21 - Due to the pandemic and the
subsequent movement restrictions, the turnover of the travel
industry in Germany declined substantially in 2020. The Federal
Statistical Office (Destatis) reported today that "the turnover
of travel agencies, tour operators and reservation service
providers was down by 61% in calendar and seasonally adjusted
terms from January to September 2020 compared with the same
period a year earlier." The slump in turnover was particularly
severe in the second quarter of 2020, Destatis added. (ANSA).
