Seventeen Italian cities are bidding
to host next year's Eurovision Song Contest after Roman rockers
Maneskin's win this year, sources said Wednesday.
RAI State broadcaster will choose the host city by the end of
August with the European Broadcasting Union.
The contest will take place in Italy in May 2022.
The bidding cities include regional capitals Bologna, Genoa,
Florence, Milan, Rome, Turin, and Trieste; provincial capitals
Alessandria, Matera, Pesaro, Rimini, and Viterbo; and the towns
of Acireale (Catania), Bertinoro di Romagna (Forlì - Cesena),
Jesolo (Venice), Palazzolo Acreide (Siracusa), and Sanremo
(Imperia).
RAI is set to send each bidder details of the requirements for
the bid.
