Italy will have two Formula One GPs
in 2022, at Monza and Imola, the global council of governing
body FIA said in approving the calendar Friday, ANSA sources
said.
The Imola race will take place on April 24 and the Monza one on
September 11, the FIA council said.
The Imola event is the Made in Italy and Emilia Romagna Grand
Prix.
The first race will return to Imola next year and every year
until 2025, the Emilia-Romagna region announced earlier this
month.
Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said that, on Imola, the foreign
ministry had worked to boost the Italy brand.
He said the even would be an "engine for tourism and for all our
'Made in Italy' sector".
