Dolomiti trade show to showcase mountains and business

To celebrate anniversary of UNESCO World Heritage designation

ROMA ANSAcom

A "mountain trade fair" will be held October 5-6, in the exhibition grounds of Longarone in northeast Italy. The appointment, in its third edition and already an official channel for business talks in the hospitality sector, is meant to draw attention to tourism attractions in the Belluno Dolomites area. This year there will be a unique chance for "training" for the 2021 Cortina World Ski Championships and for the 2026 Olympics. The first weekend of October will be the "Dolomiti Show". The expo is meant to showcase everything the Dolomites area has to offer visitors, from hotels to sports, culture and gastronomy and provides a chance for meetings between hospitality facilities and international buyers. There is a line-up of events to celebrate the Dolomites on the tenth anniversary of its designation as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sports events will be held and mountain competitive events will be showcased alongside conferences to foster the culture of hospitality and tourism, as well as high-level guests. Support will be provided by the Veneto regional government, the Belluno provincial government, the DMO Dolomiti, the UNESCO foundation, the Cortina 2021 foundation, tourism promotion bodies, the Veneto branch of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI), area businesses and professional associations from the Belluno province. The "Dolomiti Show 2019" will be inaugurated on October 5 at 11:30 but linked events will be held prior to that. From 9:30 AM to 1 PM there will be "Dolomiti Job Day", a new recruiting event for the tourism and hospitality sector in the Belluno mountain area. The morning will focus on trying to bring together supply and demand. Those working in the tourism will be able to meet with a large number of professionals. Candidates will be able introduce themselves and engage in one-to-one talks with recruiters from the companies attending. The event will serve as an opportunity to get ready for Cortina 2021 and the 2026 Olympics, as will be discussed at a conference curated by the Belluno provincial government and the DMC Dolomiti consortium from 12 until 1 PM. On the afternoon of October 5 there will be "Buy Veneto", at which 40 foreign buyers will be meeting with hospitality facilities, those working in the field, and specialised travel agencies that want to promote their offerings on foreign markets. The initiative is strongly backed by the Veneto regional government and the Belluno provincial government. Within the vast panorama of conferences will be one on safety in the mountains curated by Soccorso Alpino on Sunday, October 6, from 10:30 AM until 12. Among the surprises in this year's edition will be a who entitled "Il Futuro Sarà un Problema, Ma Anche il Presente Non Scherza" ("The Future May Be a Problem, But the Present Is Also Not a Joke") by Dario Vergassola and Mario Tozzi, on October 6 from 6 PM until 7:30 PM. There will be a vast array of events on sports. The "Dolomiti Show" will be offering mountain biking expeditions between Longarone and Lago di Santa Croce, climbing on the cliff of Erto, canoeing, and hang-gliding demonstrations. There will also be trekking, bike tours and mountain climbing on routes known as "ferrate". The initiative will give a taste of what the Belluno Dolomiti have to offer tourists. The program includes events and workshops from 9 unti 5:30 mons-stop. The exhibition grounds of Longarone are five minutes by car from the A27 highway exit.
