Migrants: Council of Europe, situation improving in Bosnia

Special representative says progress also at Lipa camp

29 January, 16:36
(ANSA) - ROMA, 29 GEN - Council of Europe special representative for migration and refugees Drahoslav Stefanek, who has nearly completed his week-long visit to Bosnia, told ANSA on Friday that the migrant situation there "is better than I expected, because there has been progress in recent days, also at the emergency Lipa camp".

He said the Lipa camp "has heated tents, showers and toilets have increased, while the authorities say they are working to provide electricity and washing machines".

Stefanek said this should help improve the difficult health situation due to Covid.

He said that some of the photos of the camp published online "do not correspond to what I saw". (ANSA).
