(ANSA) - BERLIN, 15 FEB - "You are taking office in a time
when close and loyal international cooperation is important,
both bilaterally and in Europe," Chancellor Angela Merkel wrote
in a congratulatory message to the newly appointed Italian
premier Mario Draghi. Spokesman Steffen Seibert reported the
statement.
"As a convinced European, you have already successfully committed in the past to the unity and stability of Europe," wrote the Chancellor, hoping now to continue cooperation and further deepen the close partnership between Italy and Germany.
