(ANSA) - ZAGREB, 10 LUG - Croatia and Bulgaria may be
admitted into the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II)
today, the waiting room for entry into the euro area, the
Croatian news agency Hina reported, quoting diplomatic sources
in Brussels. The decision, which received support from the Euro
Task Force at the beginning of the week, will be on the agenda
on Thursday and Friday when at the Eurogroup and the Finance and
Economic Council meeting, Hina said. The decision on the
admission of Bulgaria and Croatia is expected to be announced on
Friday, the diplomatic sources said. Any EU member state that
wishes to adopt the euro has to spend at least two years in the
ERM II mechanism, Hina recalled. (ANSA).
