An Italian prosecutor on
Tuesday asked a judge to shelve manslaughter charges against 11
people including technicians of Milan city council in the
February 14 death of a 13-year-old boy, Haitam Errafi, in an
apartment block fire in Via Cogne in Milan.
Prosecutor Ilaria Perinu said charges of culpable
manslaughter and culpable fire-starting should be dropped after
a probe established that the building's electrical system was
fit for purpose.
It is thought that a short-circuit caused the fire which
started in the apartment below the one in which the boy died.
