A group of 202 refugees and migrants
arrived on the Sicilian island of Lampedusa on Friday after
being rescued by Italian Coast Guard authorities.
The group, including 45 women and 4 minors, set sail from the
Tunisian coastal town of Sfax on Thursday morning before going
adrift.
The rescued people reportedly come from Congo, Cameroon and
Nigeria.
They told rescuers they had paid 3,000 Tunisian dinars
(approximately 900 euro) to embark.
Between Thursday night and early Friday morning 167 refugees and
migrants had already arrived in Lampedusa.
