Some 10.118 million Italians will be
on the move on the December 8 'bridge' long weekend that will
stretch into next Wednesday, hotel group Federalberghi said
Friday.
Many Italians have taken off Monday and Tuesday in order to
enjoy the break.
Federalberghi said 92.3% of those travelling will stay in Italy
while 7.7% will go abroad.
Over half of those having a domestic break, 50.8%,will remain in
their region of residence while 30.6% will go to a neighbouring
one.
Each traveller will spend an average of around 3.4 nights away
from home, the hoteliers' group said.
Average per capita spending will be around 416 euros.
The 'ponte' will generate turnover of some 3.2 billion euros,
Federalberghi said.
December 8 is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (of Mary).
