Italy-Slovenia:Giorgetti meets counterpart, more cooperation

Focus on the green deal and the joint industrial policy

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 23 - Italy's Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti met today the Slovenian Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Počivalšek at Palazzo Piacentini. The friendly and fruitful talks - reads a statement from the Ministry - focused on strengthening cooperation between the two countries given the imminent Slovenian presidency of the EU, with attention to the green deal and joint industrial policy.

Giorgetti made the Slovenian minister aware of the potential impact of a restrictive interpretation of the European directive on single-use plastics on companies in the sector.

The two ministers - continues the statement - shared the opportunity to collaborate between Italy and Slovenia regarding their respective recovery and resilience plans in the industrial and aerospace sectors and research and digitization. The digital transition will be the focus of the G20 ministerial meeting scheduled in Trieste for August 5. (ANSA).
