(ANSA) - Rome, May 3 - Renato Paratore, Andrea Pavan, Guido
Migliozzi and Nino Bertasio are the four Italians taking part in
the 25th edition of the Volvo China Open, the European Tour
tournament taking place in Shenzhen up to May 5.
Jorge Campillo, David Lipsky and Tapio Pulkkanen will share a
one shot lead heading into day two Friday after firing rounds of
65 on Thursday at the Genzon Golf Club.
All eyes are also on Haotong Li, a star of the event.
The 23-year-old Hunan native, who is number 39 in the
official world golf ranking, is chasing the third success of his
career on the top continental circuit.
On the green of the Genzon GC, Alexander Bjork is defending
the title conquered in 2018.
The tournament's outcome is hard to predict given the absence
of a number of top world players.
American golfers Julian Suri and Kurt Kitayama, as well as
Li, are considered strong contenders for the title.
Leading players at the tournament include France's Mike
Lorenzo-Vera and Alexander Levy (winner of the 2014 editions
2017), South Africa's Erik Van Rooyen and Spain's Nacho Elvira
and Jorge Campillo, who has just won the Trophèe Hassan II in
Morocco.
Britain's Jordan Smith, Ross Fisher and Aaron Rai, as well as
Thailand's Jazz Janewattananond and China's Wu Ashun are also
players to watch.
