Premier Giuseppe Conte said
Thursday it was wrong to say, as some in the Italian media have,
that he was going to a European Union summit empty-handed.
"Some journalist wrote today that I am allegedly coming to
Brussels empty-handed," he said.
"(But) I represent a G7 country, the third country in the
eurozone, the second manufacturing power in Europe.
"How can you think I am coming empty-handed?
"I represent all the thousands of Italian business realities
what export all over the world with points of absolute
excellence".
Conte described the press reports as "fanciful".
