(ANSA-AFP) - BELGRADE, DEC 22 - Three minors in Serbia and Bosnia have been identified by police investigating a wave of fake bomb threats that have disrupted daily lives in the region over the past year, officials said Friday. Over two thousand fake bomb threats were sent to various institutions in Serbia alone since the beginning of the year, and large numbers of schools and other facilities in Bosnia and Montenegro were also targeted. A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old from Belgrade were "identified and found", Serbian police said in a statement, adding that another minor near the Bosnian town of Tuzla was also discovered by local authorities. The teenagers allegedly used gaming platforms to send the fake threats to schools they attend, the statement added. "(We) suspect that the minors from Belgrade used a specially created group on a gaming platform demanded from (other) minors, which were previously identified as senders of over 80 electronic messages of allegedly planted explosive devices in educational and other institutions in Serbia," it said. The youths also "exchanged experiences on ways to protect anonymity" online, it said. (ANSA-AFP).
